Hearty soul food, full of goodness and heaps of flavour.  Enough for dinner and lunch!

Couch potato instruction

  1. Cook best stew eva’
  2. Eat giant plate of said best stew
  3. Take up couch position
  4. Take a food snooze

Ingredients

Serves 4-5   –  SLOW COOKER RECIPE

  • 500g Beef (chuck or gravy steak)
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery stems
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 5 diced mushrooms
  • 2 beef stock cubes
  • 1 glass red wine 😉 and 1 for you
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • splash of worcestershire sauce
  • 1-tsp paprika
  • 1-tbs dried Italian herb mix
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup of competition BBQ Glaze
  • enough water to just cover all the ingredients

Directions

  1. Add chopped beef to cooker
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients
  3. Cook on high for 8 hours
  4. Once cooked and cooled, refrigerate and remove fat layer
  5. Add 1/2 cup peas and 4 bean mix while cold (optional)
  6. Heat to serve.

Ideal with creamy mashed potato, yummy!
